Deposits and payments

Once you have decided you would like me to make your celebration cake you will need to pay a non refundable deposit to book in and secure the date required.

ONLY A DEPOSIT WILL SECURE YOUR BOOKING

By sending your deposit you are confirming you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.

The remaining balance of your celebration cake must be paid in full 1 week before your agreed collection cake.

Failure to pay the remaining balance in the time stated above will result in your order being cancelled and the contract is null and void, the booking fee is non refundable.

Cancellations

In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your order you must inform me as soon as possible.

Cancellations made under 4 weeks of collection date will result in any monies not being refunded due to materials being purchased.

Any monies paid are non transferable. If in the very unlikely event i need to cancel an order, i will give as much notice as possible. In this instance a full refund of any monies paid will be issued.

I will not be liable for any additional costs incurred due to cancellation of an order.

Collection of your celebration cake Please be sure to schedule your collection time accurately .If you feel that you are going to be later than agreed please contact me as possible.

In the event that you choose an alternative collection time outside of the original agreement time the new pick up time can and will be arranged at Devon maid cakes convenience.

Failure to pick up an order the same day or failure to contact me will result in your order being sold off to another customer.

When collecting your cake please hold the box from the bottom of the box and not to hold it against your body, make sure your cake stays flat in your vehicle for example in the footwell or the boot of your car and that it is transported with minimal disturbance.

Do not place it on the car seat, no liability is accepted by Devon maid cakes if damage occurs in transit.

Once the cake has left my premises you or your chosen representative assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it has left my possession . Devon maid cakes are not liable for any damage due to client handling of the product once it has been collected.

Delivery

Delivery on celebration cakes is not a standard service unless agreed to by myself which will incur an extra fee or it is a tiered cake and needs setting up at your venue.

Non edible items

Cakes may contain non edible items , these include- dowels, ribbons, wires, cocktail sticks, flowers, posey pics etc… These will be indicated on the paperwork which will either be attached to the cake box or handed to a member of staff at your venue if delivered.

It is then your responsibility to ensure all non edible items are removed before consuming. Devon maid cakes will not be held responsible for items placed on the cake without my knowing.

Allergies and intolerances

Devon Maid cakes is NOT a nut free bakery. I am unable to cater for allergies and intolerances due to my cakes being made in an environment where soy ,eggs, gluten, dairy, nuts and other allergens may be present. I can not guarantee that my cakes will be free from any allergens, all items may have been exposed to cross contamination. White or dark chocolate ganache is used in all of my cakes.

Clients are responsible for notifying me of any dietary restrictions prior to placing your order.

Best before:

My cakes are all baked individually for freshness , they do not contain any added preservatives therefore it is recommended to consume within 3 days.

After this time I can not guarantee the quality of your cake.

Design

My cakes and designs are as individual as you are, therefore no two cakes are the same.

You are welcome to send over pictures for inspiration to help give me an idea of what you are looking to create but I can not copy them.

Everyone’s style is different therefore designs will vary.

Images found on line may have been edited to enhance colours etc and are not always a true representation of what is possible.

Due to cakes being an organic art form, designs may have to be changed to best suit the cake while in process, I reserve the right to an artistic licence and to make any changes that I deem necessary for the overall look of the cake.

Concerns

If in the event you are dissatisfied with your cake, you must report any concerns within 24 hours of collection/ delivery and return as much of the cake as possible to me along with photographic evidence within this timeframe for me to investigate.

Publication and advertising

Any photographs or videos taken by devon maid cakes of your cake before
collection/delivery belong to devon maid cakes, photos and videos will appear on my website and any other social media accounts i hold, or used in publications and advertising.

Delivery and set up

All wedding cakes without exception will be delivered by devon maid cakes and set up at the agreed venue.

Photos and/ or video’s will be taken at the point of leaving it there.

Where Possible Devon maid cakes will gain the signature of a member of staff to verify it has been left in immaculate condtion and that they have received the relevant paperwork.

Devon maid cakes will not be liable for any damage caused due to the venus mishandling or negligence of your cake.

This includes occasions where I am unable to set up on the cake table due to the cake needing to be moved later in the day.

You are responsible for providing an appropriate table and environment for the cake.

Cakes are heavy and will need a sturdy table/ stand to support the weight.

Please ensure the cake table is not in direct sunlight,

I reserve the right to move the table/ stand if I feel it will best benefit the set up of your cake.

I will always endeavour to deliver and set up within the given time slot, however due to any circumstances out of my control ( traffic, weather etc..) delivery timings can not be guaranteed.

Refunds will not be given for delayed deliveries. I will always endeavour to deliver your cake as close as possible to the given time slot.

Cake stand hire

I have a range of cake/ cupcake stands available for hire.

Prices vary depending on the stand required.

An additional security deposit is required, the security deposit will be reimbursed when the stand is returned to devon maid cake within the agreed time frame and in its original condition.

Failure to do so will result in all monies being kept and used to replace the product that has been lost or damaged in your care.
